Present or Being a Mensch

It takes a light touch,
a readiness to back off,
or at least not to clench.
It takes a willingness not to do,
just to be present,
just to attend at the birth of each moment.
It takes breathing and sitting and waiting
without resentment, without judgement
of all that is, including of you.
It takes acceptance of being,
without passivity,
without need for action,
though acting when needed.
It takes nothing of you
and all that you are;
no time at all
and the whole of your life.
It is the polishing of no mirror at all,
the seeker dissolving back into the seeking.
