Pause for 3 Mindful Breaths

“We all have the tendency to believe self-doubt and self-criticism, but listening to this voice never gets us closer to our goals.
Instead, try on the point of view of a mentor or good friend who believes in you, wants the best for you, and will encourage you when you feel discouraged.”

-Kelly McGonigal

Have a mindful day

In an age of distraction, nothing can feel more luxurious than paying attention.
And in an age of constant movement, nothing is more urgent than sitting still."

“What we can do is to live out our lives as best we can with purpose, and love, and joy.
We can use each day to show those who are closest to us how much we care about them,
and treat others with the kindness and respect that we wish for ourselves.
We can learn from our mistakes
and grow from our failures.
And we can strive at all costs to make a better world.”

-Barack Obama

“Self-care is never a selfish act
- it is simply good stewardship of the only gift I have,
the gift I was put on earth to offer others.
Anytime we can listen to true self and give the care it requires,
we do it not only for ourselves,
but for the many others whose lives we touch.”

Zebras, like pretty much all animals, are forced to live in the present. Zebras don't get ulcers because they don't spend their time paying attention to things in the future over which they have no control. When you find yourself focusing on possible events in the future that you can't control, do your best zebra impression and shift your focus to the present.
