The rains that fell,BeginThe change.Distinguishingtree topsFrom their seasoned green .Brown to yellow.Orange to burgundy.Reds.And then, yet another rainwill unteather those leaves,helping them fall.They will cloak the earthProtecting it againstwinter’s cold and white.Those leavesbecome the earth,covering tree roots and grass.Untilanother bloom of green bursts forth,to begin anew.
