Pause
Take a moment to step out of the auto pilot “doing mode” into simply being here and now by bringing awareness to the sensations of the next three breaths.

Today’s reminder includes a link to a brief post called“Listening as Meditation”

Here is an excerpt from the post written by Melissa Eisler.

If you are interested in reading the entire post, including suggested steps to turn listening into a mindfulness practice, you may find it by clicking on the following link http://mindfulminutes.com/art-of-mindful-listening/

Meditation is a practice that trains the mind to focus … and trains the mind, body and emotions to be still and present with whatever comes up. And it does require practice.
Just like in sitting meditation you sit with whatever comes up, when you’re listening to someone … consider it a practice, too. Be with whomever you’re with—don’t just receive the information—fully listen to them. Invite whatever they say to the conversation to encourage them to open up further. Try to feel what they’re feeling, relate, and understand. This is the practice of true listening.”  -Melissa Eisler
Wishing you the opportunity to practice mindful listening today
